”Decide what a beautiful day it’s going to
be for you before checking the weather.”

Life
is more how you take it than how it happens. There have been many days that I
have missed opportunities of joy and happiness simply because I woke up on
the wrong side of the bed and chose to stay there. My attitude colours what
happens to me – if I am being negative that is all I will see even in the
good things that come my way.
It
is pretty much a guarantee that each day I will have good and not so good
things happen to me and around me. But it is my choice to see everything as
either a blessing or a curse. In moving to a stronger connection with my
Higher Power, I am starting to believe in a greater design of which my life
is but a small, yet important part. I can’t always see the bigger picture,
nor am I necessarily always meant to.
I
need to trust that the God of my understanding has plans for me that are
good. I am not able to comprehend all that lies before me and need to learn
to accept where I am and to be content with what I have. Being where I am
with the promise of becoming better is a miracle in of itself.

Affirmation
I
will decide to have a good day, to walk beside my Higher Power and see the
positive in all I experience.

These thoughts are part of my personal journal - reflections of where I am and have been in my recovery, but also where I want to be. My words come from my heart, and moments of clarity when I am best connected with my Higher Power. May God grant you serenity in reviewing my humble beginnings and my continuing path of recovery.
Book Sales
My first print run of 100 copies sold out, but I have had a second printing of an additional 250 copies done this year. So more are available, now at a cost of $20 CAD. My second book, Twelve Steps for Everyday Living, is now available for purchase for $15 CAD. It is my attempt, based on my experience and those who've been a part of my recovery journey, to transform the 12 Steps into a tool for anyone to use to navigate the challenges and trials of life.

Review it? Do you have a copy and enjoy what you have read? Can you help me promote it by leaving a good review at Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21939460-lean-on-me)? Thanks for your support.
In other news, after a long debate and some peer pressure, I have started a second blog, along the same vein as Lean on Me, but in my second language. You can check it out here - Tomber dans l'appui.
