Book Sales

My first print run of 100 copies sold out, but I have had a second printing of an additional 250 copies done this year. So more are available, now at a cost of $20 CAD. My second book, Twelve Steps for Everyday Living, is now available for purchase for $15 CAD. It is my attempt, based on my experience and those who've been a part of my recovery journey, to transform the 12 Steps into a tool for anyone to use to navigate the challenges and trials of life.

Review it? Do you have a copy and enjoy what you have read? Can you help me promote it by leaving a good review at Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21939460-lean-on-me)? Thanks for your support.

In other news, after a long debate and some peer pressure, I have started a second blog, along the same vein as Lean on Me, but in my second language. You can check it out here - Tomber dans l'appui.

December 9 (55)

”The height of your accomplishments will equal the depths of your convictions.”
William F. Scolavino
My journey in recovery has been one with ups and downs, twists and turns, highs and lows. My start was rocky, tentative and full of doubts. It took time, persistence, encouragement and leaps of faith that the program would deliver me from my suffering. My accomplishments started off small, many barely noticeable, as I took those first steps into recovery.
I can look back in retrospect and see more obviously now that my progress has been closely linked to the amount of effort I put into recovery. When I did just enough to get by, I had just enough sobriety to struggle through each day. As I gradually increased my recovery work, took on a service role, co-lead a step study group and made my program a priority in my life, my leaps of faith and progress followed suit.
My attitude and conviction in my recovery go a long way in determining the results I can expect. While I may awake each day an addict, my goal is to be in recovery and that frame of mind sets the stage for me to be open to the care of my Higher Power.
Affirmation
If I put my energy into recovery then I can expect to reap rewards equal to that effort. I have to give first in order to receive.
